Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Dreamville Records released her debut EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound along with her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. The track Sweat it is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole had her sing her songs to the Dreamville Team later that year as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate with her on some references.
